When
it comes to top priorities in the school, there is a tie between safety
of students and safety of horses. Without either, there would be no
classes!
Some of the horses that have been, and/or
will be used in classes, are featured on this page. It is with great
pride that we introduce and showcase these animals that have or will
provide you with a great experience in the school, as a student.

Freya |
|
|
Freya
is
a sorrel Percheon mare, 12 years old, 17.2 hands.
She
performed in the first class held by Ravenswood in Washington, in 2005.
She has also appeared in several parades on the west coast, the first
being the 4th of July Jubilee Parade, in Port Orford, Oregon
– 2004,
where she took a ribbon for first place.
In that
parade, she was positioned directly behind two Scottish Bagpipers and
had a 4-foot fire truck two positions behind her — that was
blaring its horn and siren throughout the parade. Each time the
bagpipers finished playing, she whinnied!
She’s
a sweet, sound horse that can muster up spirit when called for.
In
the 2005 jousting class, her rider was Jerry Gordon, one of our
instructors. |

Zeus |

|
Zeus,
aka Westcliffe’s Dark Secret, is a Shire gelding, 9 years
old, 18.1 hands.
He was rescued from a slaughter
house in Illinois when he was 3 years old. The breeding farm that bred
him did not like his markings so they sent him to slaughter.
Zeus
has been jousting for 4 years, and is a gentle Giant. He loves people
and will do anything to please.
Used by the school,
Zeus is owned and trained by Heather, one of our instructors. |
